Police Announcement: Mandatory Document Verification for Passengers Under 18 Years Old

During the process of passport control at the Passport Control Service of Police Station of Megisti we are obliged to implement the 2016/399 Regulation of European Parliament and Council of Europe referring to the regime of people across border - Schengen Border Code. Specifically, according to the point 6 of annex VII of the previous Code, we must ensure that the minors (under 18 years old) are passing the borders of Schengen Area with the written consent of parents or legal guardians. Effective immediately, no passenger under the age of 18 may board your vessel without the following documentation, and the parents and guardians will be obliged to present the following:
1. A valid passport or identity card for the minor.
2. A written consent form signed by both parents or legal guardians, indicating their agreement for the minor's travel. This document must be official.
3. If only one parent has custody, the relevant court document proving sole custody must also be provided.
4. If the parents are deceased, the death certificate of the parent(s) must be presented.
5. A copy of the above documents must be submitted to the border police officer upon departure from the country.
The above documents apply to all nationalities, whether or not a country is part of the Schengen Agreement, and are mandatory to ensure the protection of minors.
Please ensure that all requirements are met before boarding the ship for the smooth conduct of the journey for the minors and their parents, and inform the concerned parties accordingly.

Pet Travel Requirements

The following documents and requirements must be fulfilled for the transportation of an animal:
• The animal must have a Dog Health Record Booklet (or Official Health Certificate), duly completed and up to date.
• The animal must be identified with a Microchip Identification, compliant with international standards.
• The animal must have a Valid Rabies Vaccination Certificate, administered within the required timeframe.
• An Official Certificate must be provided, stating that a blood sample was collected from the dog or cat at least thirty (30) days after the rabies vaccination, and that the laboratory test result is negative for rabies antibodies.
• Customs authorities must be notified at least one (1) day in advance prior to arrival or transport.
